  • Check-in is available from 3:00pm, and check-out is by 11:00am.

    If you’d like a little extra time to relax, late check-out may be available on request, subject to availability:

    • Until 12:00pm – complimentary, where available

    • Until 1:00pm – 50% of the nightly room rate

    • Until 2:00pm – 100% of the nightly room rate

    For those with later flights, we recommend booking an additional night for full comfort and access, so you can continue to enjoy your room and the hotel’s guest facilities at your leisure.

  • We don’t have a traditional reception desk with set hours, however, our team is contactable daily between 8:00am and 6:00pm on +61 3 6223 3388 (press option 2) or by email at reception@grandevuehotel.com.au for any questions you may have.

    For urgent matters outside these hours, please contact Ash directly on 0432 404 529.

  • We don’t have a dedicated car park; however, there is free street parking available right outside the hotel on Mona Street and Clarke Street.

    Many spaces offer all-day free parking, while others have a 2-hour limit from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday (unrestricted at all other times).

    Parking permits allow you to park in the 2-hour zones at any time and are guaranteed for guests staying in the following rooms:

    - The Waterloo Room

    - The Charles Fox Room

    - The Kelly Room

    - The Knopwood Room

    All other rooms are subject to permit availability on the day.

  • We offer a complimentary light start to the day in our guest kitchen, where you can help yourself to a thoughtfully curated Tasmanian spread. Enjoy premium locally made yoghurt, fruit compotes, fresh fruit, gourmet mueslis, artisan breads with preserves and marmalades, pure Tasmanian juices, and a selection of quality teas and coffee. Designed to be light, healthy, and locally sourced, it’s the perfect way to begin your day before exploring Hobart.

    While we don’t provide a full cooked breakfast, Battery Point and the surrounding area are home to many excellent cafés, with some listed below.

    For your added convenience, each room is equipped with a toaster, allowing you to enjoy locally sourced breads and condiments from nearby bakeries and specialty stores.

  • Our rooms do not have air conditioning. As a heritage building, Grande Vue is fitted with efficient heating for the cooler months and ceiling fans for warmer days, as well as windows that can be opened for fresh air.

    Hobart’s climate is generally mild, but if you tend to feel the heat or have any concerns, please let us know and we’ll do our best to recommend the most suitable room and help you stay comfortable.

  • Grande Vue is a heritage building and does not have a lift. The hotel has three levels, with the top floor accessible only by stairs. On the ground floor, The Stowell and The Kelly Room involve a few internal steps. On the lower level, Montpellier and The Florence Fox Apartment are accessed via a path along the side of the hotel and may be more suitable if stairs are an issue.

  • We welcome children aged 12 and over to stay at the hotel. However, exceptions can be made for younger children if you choose to book the hotel exclusively for a group reservation.

  • We love animals, but unfortunately pets are not able to stay at Grande Vue.

  • Yes – Grande Vue can be reserved on an exclusive-use basis for up to 20 in-house guests. It’s ideal for micro-weddings and elopements, milestone celebrations, family gatherings, retreats and small corporate offsites.

    If you’re planning something special, share your dates and guest numbers and we’ll send through tailored options and current pricing.

  • Yes — we’re very happy to assist with luggage storage.

    If you’re arriving early, you’re welcome to drop your bags with us so you can head out and start exploring while we prepare your room.

    On departure, we can also store your luggage until 2:00pm.

    As the hotel is unstaffed from mid-afternoon, all luggage collection must take place by 2:00pm.

    Please note that luggage storage does not include continued access to guest areas, including the lounge, kitchen, or your room. After check-out, we kindly ask that guests make their way out to enjoy the local area while we prepare for arriving guests
